Ashudumps.info and its projects (like Dino Archive) are a small personal hobby site. The short version: no ads, and signing in is optional.
Everything here works without signing in. Signing in with Google is optional.
When you sign in, Google confirms who you are and passes this site your display name. The sign-in itself happens on Google's side.
While you are signed in, two things are held against your account. One is your name and score on a leaderboard. The other is the list of species you have marked on Wild India, which is kept so that the list follows you to another device you sign in on.
A cookie keeps you signed in on this browser for 30 days. Signing out clears it.
Two tools count visits here, and they work very differently.
GoatCounter runs for everyone. It sets no cookies and does not identify you, it just counts anonymous page views so we can see which pages people actually read. More at goatcounter.com/privacy.
Google Analytics tells us more, such as how far down a page people get and which links they use. That is worth knowing when nearly everything here is something you click and play with. It does set cookies, and the data goes to Google. If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland we ask you first and it stays off unless you say yes. Everywhere else it loads by default, which is the honest version of what most sites do without mentioning it.
Wherever you are, you can switch both of them off in this browser for good by opening ashudumps.info/?nogtag=1, and back on with ?yesgtag=1. The choice is kept in your browser, not in a cookie and not on our side. We use that same switch ourselves so our own visits stay out of the numbers.
To work, these pages load a few things from other companies: web fonts from Google Fonts, dinosaur photos from Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons, a small code library from a CDN (jsDelivr), analytics from GoatCounter and Google Analytics, and the site is hosted on Netlify. When your browser loads these, those services may receive basic technical information such as your IP address, simply as part of delivering the content. Each runs under its own privacy policy.
Buttons such as Instagram and Chai4Me take you to other websites. Once you leave this site, those sites have their own privacy policies.
This site is family-friendly and doesn't knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
